Anganwadis play a vital role in the health, education, and development of children and mothers in rural India. However, many of these centers are under-resourced and overlooked. The Kamba Foundation is changing that—one Anganwadi at a time.
What Are Anganwadis?
Launched under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Anganwadis are grassroots centers for child care, nutrition, and pre-school education. They are lifelines for pregnant women, new mothers, and children under six.
The Ground Reality
Many Anganwadis in Karnataka lack basic necessities like seating, play materials, nutrition kits, and sanitation. This affects not just children’s learning but also their health and overall development.
Kamba Foundation’s Mission
Our goal is to revitalize these centers by:
- Providing learning and play materials
- Supplying hygiene and nutrition kits
- Repairing or rebuilding broken infrastructure
- Supporting Anganwadi workers with training and tools
A Story of Hope
In Sonnenahalli, a small village near Yelahanka, the local Anganwadi was on the verge of shutdown. Through donor support, Kamba Foundation renovated the center, provided books and toys, and arranged a nutritional meal plan. Today, attendance has doubled and children are healthier and happier.
How You Can Help
- Sponsor a month’s nutrition for 10 children – ₹2,000
- Donate toys, books, or hygiene kits
- Volunteer to teach or conduct health camps
📢 Every Anganwadi revived is a future saved. Be a part of this transformation.
